Having discovered the incredible truth, that a former chief executive of Wealden District Council had forged a letter on Sussex Police headed paper, firstly the matter was reported to the succeeding chief executive. Then when it was clear a professional council spin doctor was writing the replacement chief executive's replies, the matter was reported to a station outside the Eastbourne area hoping this would bring about a full investigation.
DCI Jane Rhodes never wrote again and there was no investigation. Instead, something more sinister took place - that took a few more years to percolate. The writer of this letter, having forwarded Wealden's chief executive officer's replies, is still waiting to receive a crime number. There is no statutory limit concerning crimes of this type. All the while similar fact evidence is building. The 12 original Petitioners (39 on the second Petition) would like their evidence to be taken.
